Medora (Roosevelt NP, South Unit)

This morning I returned to the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park . I arrived just before sunrise and was rewarded by some bison framed by first light against the badlands. Although cloudy skies were predicted, I had clear blue skies. So I had a very different situation than the other day. I also drove a mile up to an elevated viewpoint that gave me a better overview of the badlands.

 I spent a short time walking around the small town of Medora this afternoon. It was pretty quiet and many businesses are closed as it is now officially the off-season.

This is my last day in North Dakota. Tomorrow I head west to Montana.
