Topeka to Manhattan, KS

read the post
This morning I continued west, driving to Manhattan, KS by way of the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve . I again met my friends Jeff, Onalee and Jillian at the preserve and we did a 6 mile out and back hike. We were graced with a few groups of buffalo, and on the way back we had a couple of single individuals that we had to skirt to make sure we maintained sufficient distance. They were pretty chill, but we wanted to make sure we stayed out of their way.

After our hike, we had lunch at Jacalito Family restaurant , just around the corner from the preserve. We then parted ways and I continued on to Manhattan. I’m again staying at a Fairfield property. For my purposes, this has been the most reliable brand of the Marriott family. They are simple, but are always clean and comfortable. Parking is usually complimentary, and the rooms come with a fridge and microwave. There is always some sort of breakfast that at least is an option. A Fairfield is my default choice is one is available near to where I wish to stay.

This is a one night pit stop. Tomorrow I continued westward to Colby for my last two nights in Kansas.
