Sedona (Snow is better than rain)

read the post
I woke to yet another winter wonderland today. Snow is so much better than rain. I was up and out early to take advantage of the break in precipitation. The light was beautiful. As I started up 89a, I saw an electronic sign that the road was closed. A gentlemen passing by one of my stops told me that was because of a rockfall. Not knowing where exactly was the closure, I continued slowly, stopping at every possible opportunity to see what photo opportunities awaited. By the time I reached the area of the rock slide, it had been cleared and I was able to proceed.

I spent the morning taking snowy landscapes and abstracts. As most of the trailheads were still closed due to snow, I was limited to where I could safely pull off the road. By about 10:30, the mixed precipitation had started again, and it had become completely socked in, so it was time to head back to town and grab breakfast.

At the Creekside Inn, I met Kim and Max, along with their Italian Greyhounds Jet and Tux. They both currently reside in Chandler AZ. Max is originally from Puerto Rico and Kim from South Carolina. They were up for the day to enjoy the snow.

Although I ventured out again in the afternoon, the morning was by far the better opportunity.

Tomorrow I head South to Tucson.
