The weather came close to defeating me today. It was not so much that I minded being out in it, it was more that every place I had hoped to go was closed due to snow. I drove around all morning with little to show for it. I finally decided to visit the Montezuma Castle National Monument which I knew would at least be open. And, as a bonus, free for MLK day. The history is extremely interesting, the photo-ops, not so much. The afternoon was a small improvement. When landscapes are not available, look for abstracts. And the driving rain at least turned to a light drizzle.
What is also true about Sedona is they charge for everything. To park in one of the many pull-outs you must purchase a recreation pass. And other parking lots have their own fees. None of it is very expensive, just annoying. I kept expecting them to charge for the air I was breathing.
In an attempt to counteract the negative vibes, I visited a vortex site. Sorry to report that I felt nothing. No doubt a personal problem. So I tried the highest rated crystal shop in town. Because, well, Sedona. At The Twisted Alchemist , Jeremiah was my guide to all thing energy and crystal. They really did have an amazing selection, including a number of stones I had heard of but never seen, as well as minerals that I had never even heard of. I purchased a few small items meant to ground me and dissipate negative energy.
Rain is expected again all day tomorrow.
