This morning F & L picked me up at 8 AM for the two and a half hour drive up to Port Townsend . The town itself is cute and pleasantly funky, featuring a downtown of mismatched Victorian architecture. Our destination was Fort Warden , in particular a bunker that is covered with evolving graffiti and water patterns. This is the sort of situation that is conducive to abstract photography.
We drove through pouring rain, but fortunately Port Townsend is situated in a rain shadow so, while we had cloudy, windy conditions with gray dismal skies, it was relatively dry. We spent a couple of hours shooting in and around the bunker, with a short break for lunch, then reversed direction for the two and a half hour drive back. Fortunately, the rain on the way back was lighter and more intermittent.
We arrived back in West Seattle, collected Art, and headed to a nice dinner at Jak’s Grill . Two bottles of excellent wine later, we were all ready to head home for a good night’s sleep.
Tomorrow will again be a low-key day, mostly taking care of errands and tasks.
