Today I continued my journey West, finally making it over the state line to Vermont. On the way I stopped at Remarkable Things at Stowe Craft , a high end craft store that was recommended. They did indeed have many nice things and d make a purchase of some cool wind chimes to take home for my backyard.
I then continued down the road to the original Ben and Jerry’s ice cream factory . I was hoping for a tour, but it was a zoo and the only opening was later in the afternoon. Yet another activity that it did not occur to me required an advance timed reservation. The bane of my existence. I had my usual small scoop and called it done. I will note however, that the price of that scoop keeps increasing; today’s damage was 6.65.
After that, it was time to head over to The Tillerman to check in. This is a boutique inn in Bristol that my friend C. turned me on to. The proprietors Kate and Jason are friends of hers. One of the features is a stream on the property, which I took advantage of to photograph late in the day. They also run a restaurant on-site that is open W-S. I am looking forward to sampling the fare as both Kate and Jason previously worked in the Bay Area food scene.
Tomorrow I will drive up to a quarry and fossil preserve on Isle la Motte.
