This morning I met K & J and we started down the coast to find good locations to photograph the King Tide. Peak was expected around 11:30 AM, but the waves were clearly picking up by mid-morning.
We stopped at two places at or near the height of the waves, Depoe Bay and Yaquina Bay. We then took a lunch break at Szabzy’s restaurant, across the highway from Yaquina Bay. The place is listed exactly nowhere and it does not even appear on Google Maps. Perhaps it appears out of the mists only at midday when you drive up to it. Fortified, we drove further down the coast to an unnamed bluff just past Agate Beach, where we stayed for sunset.
The King Tide is also expected around midday tomorrow, so we will will wash, rinse and repeat.
