This morning I drove from Gardiner, MT to West Yellowstone, ID. Well, technically, my lodging is in Island Park. In the middle of nowhere is a very nice Springhill Suites. Who knew? Anymore brands have become increasingly undependable and you never know what you are going to get. This one is a spacious well-appointed property with a full bar with a dinner option and an outdoor hot tub with a view of the river. And Brianna at the front desk could not have been nicer.
I stopped for brunch in Bozeman at Nova, which I can now recommend. And I drove through an edge of Yellowstone NP that strays into Idaho. I appreciated the frequent large pull-outs both so that I could look for photos and also so that I could let those who actually wanted to drive 70 mph through this stretch pass me.
Tomorrow I will drive west to the Red Rock Lakes NWR. While this is in ID, I will consider it an interlude before I cross back into Wyoming the day after tomorrow.
