Boise to Seattle

read the post
This was my last really long drive. With stops, it was about nine hours. Fortunately, I gained an hour, so arrived just in time to see the sun set over the sound.

I am staying over night at my friend and mentor Art Wolfe’s house in West Seattle. I’ll then be able to leave my car and most of my luggage here while I travel to Alaska this week. At the end of the week, I’ll return and spend next week in Washington State. Art is currently traveling (a common occurrence) so I arrived to an empty house. His assistant Chris managed all of the details to allow me to let myself in and get situated and comfortable. And my friends Fred and Linda, also good friends of Art, were kind enough to meet me and orient me to the house, then treat me to dinner.

Tomorrow will be spent repacking for the trip to Alaska before I board the dreaded red-eye to Fairbanks.
