After participating in a quick critique session, I said goodbye to Art, Gav and the photo workshop and headed back out to the coast to Virginia Beach, VA. I decided to drive the same portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway as I did coming in with the hope for perhaps some views. I did luck out at a few view points, but otherwise experienced the same white-out rainy conditions as when I drove in.
And it only got worse. Most of the nine hour drive to Virginia Beach was in driving rain, complete with thunder and lightening. I had my windshield wipers on high much of the time, and in some portions used my four wheel drive as well as hazard lights. It just never let up. I saw several accidents, the worst of which was a car that ended up tipped on its side. I was very glad to arrive at my destination without incident. I guess I should be glad I am not still in Florida, where there are tornado warnings.
The next few days look pleasant, which will be a nice change.
